HSPA protests against Niraj Public School giving TCs to over 80students

Yesterday morning about 40plus parents from across the various schools in Hyderabad gathered opp Green Park Hotel (Country Oven), Ameerpet to protest against no action by any government authority of the ruthless action taken by Niraj school management in issuing TCs to about 80 students for the only reason "their parents protested against fee hikes last year". This has been widely covered by media (TV & print). Due to morning traffic rush & that the CMs convoy was passing through this road, the police took about 10 parents along with activists from Loksatta & Congress (who came up in support of the cause) under preventive custody & released later.

This is the 1st of such protests planned & would intensify should the government restrict in releasing statements to press & show no action. For over last few months the citizens of this country & the UPAs government is gungho on RTE & how could government be so insensitive to such protests happening across ? Today its unfortunate that government has interest & power to take decisions in controlling such expensive professional & higher education & doesn't care a damn for primary/school education?

Lets take a cue from what governments in Tamil Nadu, Maharastra & New Delhi are trying to do ? GO MS 91 whic has come with such a fanfare is lying idle for want of judgement in the High Court,w ith almost no vision of when some light could be thrown ?

How long would parents take it ???

DEO orders action on Niraj schoolJune 25th, 2010
June 24: The District Education Officer, Mr Jagannath Reddy, said he has told the government to take action against the school. “I conducted an inquiry into the complaints lodged by the parents and I wrote to the government recommending cancellation of the school’s NOC. This will also lead to the school’s de-affiliation from CBSE. The government has to take action now,” said the district education officer Mr Jagannath Reddy.
It is our fundamental right to protest. The school gave Transfer Certificates to students because their parents protested against the exorbitant fees,” said Mr K.V.R. Kumar, secretary, HSPA. Sources say 32 of the 72 students who were given TCs have applied to other schools for admissions.

For the remaining 40 students, the school management has asked their parents to give a bond that they will not participate in any more anti-fee movements to withdraw the TCs.

The school’s principal Mr Jeevitesh Reddy was not available for comment and office bearer Mr Rasheed and other school authorities refused to comment.

  1. Some schools like Chirec harassed the parents who questioned fee hike and non-implementation of RTE to remove their child. This was done by not giving the nex year fee challans untill these parents met the principal and some of the management stooges. So after 20-30 minutes talking down some of the parents were cowed down to apologize. Some parents with integrity withdrew their children as the school principal & the stooges said that 'maube the child will not be ahppy in the school now that you have protested'.

  3. About niraj,
I am a anonomas ex teacher of Niraj Public school
Recently I had to meet soe of my old frieds there and went to school.
I was force by my old dear friends there to have lunch thats provided by the school both for teachers and Students.
I was shocked by the quality of food searved there.
My friends said it was lot better that day.
I really felt very bad and sad for the students first and parents for paying so heavey amounts for annual food
I dont want to specify the recipy but it was just 2 items with odd cobinations and with absolutely no nutrition values.
As i worked there for for few years, and I also have a kid ( luckly not studying there)
I really pity people for being exploited..

    regards
    krishna
